Downhill Skiing

Stowe offers world-class downhill skiing at the famous Stowe Mountain Resort. The ski area consists of two peaks, VT's Largest Mt. Mansield, and Spruce Peak. The terrain is some of the best anywhere, ranging from the challenging "Front Four", to groomed intermediate cruisers over a mile long, to the Easy Street at Little Spruce. Stowe truly offers something for everyone.

Snowboarding

Stowe is also popular with riders. On any given powder day, the Burton Snowboard employees can be seen on the first lift ride up to enjoy the fresh tracks. Stowe has an exciting terrain park and great super pipe to enjoy. There is also some great glades sections that both riders and skiers play in.

Cross-Country Skiing

Many people are unaware that Stowe is also a world class cross country area as well. With over 150 kilometers of cross-country ski trails interconnecting four touring centers, we feel it is the most outstanding network of groomed and back country skiing in the U.S. The four touring centers consist of the famous Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe Mountain Resort Touring Center, Topnotch Touring Center, and the Edson Hill Cross Country Center.
Generally the Cross-Country Season runs from December into early April.

Snowmobiling

There are a couple options for snowmobiling in Stowe. If you have your own machines then access is available to the VAST network, which leads in all directions throughout the State of Vermont. Guests at the Town & Country can access the trail network via the back our property.
If you are looking to rent equipment then both "Stowe Snowmobile Tours" offers a fantastic guided tour.

Ice Skating

Ice Skating is available at the Jackson Ice Arena in the Stowe Village. Public skating schedules are available at our Front Desk.

Snowshoeing

There are unlimited places to go snowshoeing in Stowe. Several of the ski shops offer rentals as well as guided tours(some at night!) This is not only a great workout but loads of fun!
